Bomba Curls Turns One!

From Villa Mella to the World/De Villa Mella Al Munda

Bomba Curls is all about celebrating the beauty of the skin you’re in and as we march into celebrating our 1 year anniversary we decided to kick-off the celebrations the best way we know how- a Palo limpio’!

We partnered with the iconic Enerolisa Nuñez y Su Grupo to share a special performance of Los Congos de Villa Mella with our Bomba Curls family.

Villa Mella is a historic community within the Dominican Republic - not only is it the birthplace of our CEO, Lulu Cordero, but it is also a community that was founded by Maroons, Africans who escaped from slavery on the island and established free communities, and Palo Music serves a proud reminder of our African roots and traditions.

This is the music beats throughout the heart and soul of Bomba Curls - so much so that you’ll even find us blasting it in the Product Lab.

Enerolisa Nuñez is a music legend from Villa Mella. Her decades-long career has left an extraordinary mark on the entire island’s musical history as she continues to carry on the Maroon musical traditions.

She wanted to bless Bomba Curls for our very first birthday in a special way - with her poignant and powerful voice!
